Surveying a new walkway on the Mahia Peninsula during June 2023. This walkway, known as Te Aratia Walkway, follows the Whangawehi Stream upstream from the Whangawehi Harbour to Kinikini Road.

A picturesque walk alongside the stream through planted natives undertaken by the Whangawehi Walkway Catchment Group.
